Russia Warns Security Talks Without Moscow Are a ‘Road to Nowhere’
Russia dismisses international security discussions held without its participation, calling them ineffective and a “road to nowhere.”

Russia has sharply criticized ongoing international security discussions that exclude Moscow, warning that such efforts are “a road to nowhere.”
The statement came from Russian officials on Tuesday, who argued that any dialogue on regional stability, arms control, or conflict resolution cannot succeed without Russia at the table. Moscow insisted that attempts to isolate it diplomatically will only deepen global divisions.
The comments follow a series of Western-led meetings on Ukraine and broader European security concerns—sessions Russia was not invited to attend. Analysts say the remarks reflect Moscow’s strategy of framing exclusion as a blow to legitimacy, while continuing to demand recognition as a central security actor.
Despite its criticism, Russia signaled it remains open to talks—but only if they take place on terms it considers fair and inclusive.
